Points are not an offer. Most importantly: many universities make offers in grades (e.g. AAB) and require specific subjects — a points total never overrides that.
- Around 70% of courses reference the tariff — but many make offers in grades (e.g. AAB), not points.
- Even where points are accepted, universities routinely require specific subjects at specific grades (e.g. an A in Maths). Hitting a total does not override those.
- Only your highest-level qualification in a subject counts — an A-level's points replace the AS in the same subject. Don't double-count.
- GCSEs carry no tariff points (they're Level 2). 'No tariff points' doesn't mean a qualification isn't accepted.
