NTCET Explained (Northern Territory, 2026)
The NTCET — the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training — is the SACE delivered in the Northern Territory. It's administered by the SACE Board of South Australia, so NT students study the same SACE subjects, sit the same external exams, and have their ATAR calculated by SATAC the same way South Australian students do.

Because the NTCET is the SACE, everything on our SACE guide applies to NT students — how the ATAR is calculated, why there's no public subject-scaling table, and the 2026 exam timetable. This page covers what is specifically different for the Northern Territory.
NT exam session times
NT students sit the identical 2026 exams (2–13 November) but at earlier session times than South Australia — the SACE Board prints both on the one official timetable:

Your NT ATAR
SATAC calculates the ATAR for NT students as well as SA students — its aggregate-to-ATAR conversion table is explicitly for “SACE/NTCET” and ranks SA and NT students together against the combined 16-to-20-year-old population of both jurisdictions. Your ATAR and Tertiary Entrance Statement are released through SACE Students Online in mid-December, the same day as your results.
